General Summary:
Provide trauma informed, culturally relevant, in-person youth development services to high school students, designed to promote protective factors and strengthen resiliency. Youth development activities may include sports, arts, outdoor recreation, gardening, community service projects, mentoring, and other activities that give purpose and encourage self-care, healing, and provide mutual peer support.
This is a PACE Consulting employee position. The role is part of a subcontracted partnership with a larger organization, where day-to-day responsibilities are coordinated by the partner agency, while employment and administrative support are managed by PACE.
Principal Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Leads and organizes during/after school youth groups or mentoring weekly and at times weekends through a variety of workshops/groups related but not limited to: social skills, stress management, anger management, conflict resolution, grief/loss, social adjustment, anti-bullying, drug and alcohol awareness and resistance.
2. Monitors participants’ academic performance, participation in school activities and school attendance.
3. Conducts weekly after school homework support and mentoring as well as leadership and career sessions.
4. Provides peer mediation and peer conflict resolution during the school day and afterschool to students who are referred by a teacher or school administrator.
5. Collects and evaluates data to determine program effectiveness by keeping attendance for groups, workshops, and events.
6. Conducts an annual parent and student satisfaction survey.
7. Conducts community outreach as needed
8. Informs Program Director of all activities, progress, and challenges within the program during regular supervision.
9. Provides services in compliance with the agency and the program standards, policies and procedures, organizational values, and philosophies.
10. Per the contract of the program, Youth Development staff must attend county-indicated trainings for youth development practitioners.
11. Other duties assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
· BA/BS in Social Work or related field and/or equivalent experience working with youth may substitute for a BA/BS.
· Minimum of two years of experience in a community or school-based setting providing programming to school aged youth.
· Experience with human service programs, culturally diverse and underserved communities, community resources and cultural competency
· Generally, must possess a valid state driver's license with 3 or fewer points at time of hire.
· Willingness to maintain a flexible 40 hour a week work schedule, evening and weekend hours may be necessary.
· Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish) but not necessary.

Compensation: $55,800.00 per year
